Team Leicester moves all MIPIM plans to 2021

As a result of the situation with the Coronavirus COVID-19, organisers, Reed MIDEM have now confirmed that MIPIM will no longer be taking place in June, with the next edition running from 16 to 19 March 2021.

MIPIM (Le Marché International des Professionnels de l'Immobilier) is a leading global property event held every March in Cannes. Real estate professionals from all over the world gather for four days of networking, events, conferences and exhibitions.

Team Leicester, a group of public and private sector organisations with an interest in property development and construction - should have been heading to France for the original event, which was initially postponed until June because of the Coronavirus.

The 22-strong partnership headlined by Leicester-based property developer, Bradgate Estates was due to attend MIPIM to collectively showcase property, business and development opportunities across Leicestershire.

Instead, all Team Leicester’s 2020 plans will transfer to MIPIM 2021. Reed MIDEM will be running a new, two-day event in Paris in September as well as an all-year round on-line experience.

Rob McGuinn, director at MDA Consulting and chair of Team Leicester said, “This news that the main MIPIM event will no longer run this year is obviously very disappointing but not unexpected, given the widespread escalation of the Coronavirus.

“This is an unprecedented situation and we recognise that everyone is striving to make the best of this horrendous turn in global events.

“We will be rolling our programme including all sponsorship over to next year and we are fully committed – even more so now - to making MIPIM 2021 a massive success.”

Team Leicester’s management agency, Associate Events, will be continuing to liaise with the venues in France once they re-open and to develop the Team Leicester programme through the remainder of this year and into 2021.
